i love cheap CLOTHES!

too cute tunic $9.00
been looking for a cute cardigan $11.00

Gotta love the vintage swans $9.00

$7.00 for this beaut. Love it

These are THE Joe's jeans. Had to take a pic of the butt because that is so key to a good pair of jeans. BTW, not so easy to take a pic of your own butt, :]

This vintage pretty thing was only $11.00 :]

So this post is for all of you who may live in Oklahoma, Texas, or Mississippi. There is a store called Wall's Discount Store. From what I understand, they buy merchandise from companies/stores who suffer fire, water or any other kind of damage, bankruptcy, overstocked items, etc. and then resell it at a cheaper price. Their website is http://www.wallsbargaincenter.com/ I have sort of a love/hate relationship with this store. When the deals are good, they are GOOD! But, you can go months at a time not finding anything(in my humble experience/opinion) Well, yesterday was one of those GOOD days! They recently got a shipment in of clothing from Urban Outfitters which is very lucky for me indeed:] So I got a pair of Joe's designer jeans that usually sell for $165.00 for only $15.00. They were missing a button, but I was pretty sure I could find a button for cheaper than $150.00. In fact, I already had the perfect one resting in my sewing box waiting for a little permanent home to call his own. I was rushed for time which may have been a good thing since I can go crazy when I find a good thing. But I still walked away with some sweet finds.

Refurbished Dining Chairs

I am loving my newly finished shabbychic English country ladderback dining chairs. They were alot of work, but well worth it! Here's the pic from the Craigslist ad...I paid a whopping $5.00 for each of them! I ended up sanding, priming, painting (spray), sanding again (distressing), covering in polyurethane, and scotch guarding the seat cushions that I stapled over the old cushions. Not expensive but somewhat time consuming for me.
Here's another shot of them in my kitchen. The lighter fabric is aqua butlooks lighter in the pics because I took them at night. I am hoping to find another fabric (maybe striped) that will marry the two colors shown in the seat cushions for window treatments. What do you think?

Dollar Store Details

So I am all over this little bird trend and hope it lasts for a LOOOOOONG time! I found these cute little birdies at Dollar Tree and they are a perfect addition to my cheerful red, aqua and yellow bedroom!

Pelmet Box

So I finally got the curtains to go with my pelmet boxes I made using a very easy tutorial found at the Little Green Notebook blog. Here is the link:

littlegreennotebook.blogspot.com/2009/09/easy-pelmet-boxes.html

So easy to make just be careful using your utility knife cutting the foamcore as I learned the hard way after an ambulance ride, stitches and a nice big scar across the top of my left hand!

I found the curtains at Walmart and spent a total of just over 30.00 for 4 panels. Not too bad:] The apholstery fabric on the pelmet box was a large remnant found at Fabrics Unlimited for around 15.00. I even had enough left over to do my vanity bench!

$5 dollar nightstand/end table

Here is the finished project...sorry, meant to show the "before" pic first but for some reason blogger just scrambles the order on me sometimes...
Here's the "before"

I did this in one evening watching college football with my husband...love multitasking :) Anyhow, to do this all you need is some sandpaper, paint, modge podge, and scrapbook paper! Easy, huh! If anyone is interested in a tutorial I would be happy to post one...just let me know in the comments.

Train Table

This is what I (with some help from my dad) came up with for my 4 year old sons Christmas present. He wanted a train table and I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg buying him one so I made one instead. The total cost for the project was (table and track set) $30.00! Sweaters to Stockings!

I saw my friend making these and had to try it out. I went to the DI and bought an old sweater for a few bucks and cut out stockings. I sewed them together and did put lining in them so when we shove all the goodies in, they won't snag. Stockings cost quite a bit these days and this was so cheap and easy!!
